Abstract
Graphic design is characterized by its visual aspect, but could it also allow us to represent things that are not visible ?
This article aims to determine how we can represent the « invisible » in astronomy and to decide if it is really possible to represent reality or just a simplification of what we can see.
It is based on examples such as representations through time, visualizations or an interview with a data visualization designer in astronomy. The results indicate that representations of the invisible can be enhanced by shapes or colors. Further research proves that other elements could change our vision of the cosmos, such as AI and new technologies, which could improve our perception of the universe.
